Costa Maya is new to me.  The port was completed and opened in 2001 specifically to cater to cruise folks. It sounds nice but a little like Disneyland  instead of an historic original. For me that could be a black mark but then I learned about the Mayan ruins at Chacchoben from Cruise Critic.
